'''Beneminius Fulminii''' was a Roman religious leader and member of [[House Fulminii]] who served as Pontifex, the head of the clergy, until his death in 48 BC during [[The Fall of the Republic]] Event. After surviving a direct lightning strike, he became associated with rumours that he had been touched or favoured by Jupiter. Beneminius neither confirmed nor denied these claims, instead allowing the uncertainty surrounding the event to strengthen his family’s influence.

==Appearance==
Beneminius was a tall man with a composed, almost statuesque presence, as though carved from marble. Branching scars crossed his skin following the lightning strike he survived. Marking him as a man who had survived the unnatural. He did not attempt to conceal them, allowing the scars to serve as a reminder of the storm that changed his life.
His expression was usually focused and unreadable. He spoke in a calm and measured voice that rarely rose, but nevertheless carried authority.

==Personality==
Calm, controlled, and deeply calculating, Beneminius was a man who rarely wasted words or movement, preferring to watch and take stock before acting. Strength, endurance, and results mattered to him more than sentiment.


==Biography==
Beneminius was born into the Fulminara, a minor [[Patrician]] family of modest influence. The family was known within Roma but held little power or respect compared with the greater houses. As such, his early life was defined by limited expectations. Growing up in the shadow of Rome’s more powerful families, Beneminius learned to watch carefully and find his place in a world largely shaped by greater names.

His position changed following a devastating storm. Lightning struck the estates, storehouses, and other holdings of several rival families that had long overshadowed the Fulminara. The pattern of destruction seemed unusually and terrifyingly precise, and by the end of the storm many of those families had lost much of what had supported their power.

The Fulminara estate was also burned and scarred, but it remained standing. Beneminius himself survived a direct lightning strike, which left branching scars across his body. Afterwards, some claimed that Jupiter had judged the Fulminara’s rivals and spared Beneminius. Others saw the event as no more than chance during a destructive storm.

Beneminius did not confirm or deny either interpretation. Instead, he took advantage of the position the storm had left him in. He secured abandoned holdings, rebuilt his family’s influence, and helped make the Fulminara one of the stronger families in the area. He also did little to discourage the stories about Jupiter’s favour, allowing others to draw their own conclusions.

Under Beneminius’s leadership, the Fulminara became the [[House Fulminii|Fulminii]] and gained considerably more influence. The family’s rise came from Beneminius’s planning and ambition, but the story of the storm also became an important part of their reputation. Whether Jupiter had truly chosen him was never settled.

==Story==
Beneminius served as the Pontifex Maximus of the Roman faith during the final years of the Republic. In 50 BC, he appointed a number of chief priests and priestesses to oversee Rome's many temples while personally presiding over the Temple of Jupiter. During his tenure, rumours began to circulate of hidden cults and other unorthodox religious movements operating within the Republic, though little concrete evidence was available at the time.

Despite his prominent religious position, Beneminius and his household soon became the target of political intrigue. His family's estate was raided by a detachment of the Roman Legion under accusations directed at members of his household. During the confrontation, one of the legionaries was heard shouting about a mysterious "kill ticket" a phrase that left Beneminius bewildered and convinced the man was either delusional or influenced by a cult. The incident was ultimately resolved through discussions with the attending legate of the Third Legion, whom Beneminius regarded as a reasonable and honourable officer.

The raid left a lasting impact on the Pontifex Maximus. Fearing for the safety of his family, he withdrew from public life and spent much of his time secluded within his estate. While he continued to fulfil the essential duties of his office, his prolonged absence from Rome's religious affairs frustrated many of the chief priests and priestesses beneath him. What began as dissatisfaction gradually grew into resentment, and some within the priesthood began to question whether Beneminius was still fit to lead the Roman faith.

Although increasingly reclusive, Beneminius continued to appear when circumstances demanded it. He witnessed the manifestation of Jupiter within the temples and ordered the suppression and execution of known cultists, remaining steadfast in his defence of the traditional Roman religion despite the growing unrest surrounding him.

Little is recorded of Beneminius' activities during the following years. Contemporary accounts suggest that he devoted himself almost entirely to the protection of his family while allowing much of the day-to-day administration of the priesthood to fall to his subordinates. By around 49 BC, however, divisions within the priesthood had deepened, and those closest to him had begun quietly conspiring against their High Pontiff.

In 48 BC, the conspiracy reached its conclusion. Beneminius was lured into a carefully orchestrated trap and assassinated by his own chief priests, who had come to believe that he had failed in his responsibilities as Pontifex Maximus. His death marked the end of his leadership over the Roman faith and remains one of the most infamous betrayals in the history of the Republic's priesthood.

What began as a campaign to push back the Gauls and claim more land for themselves, would become another brutal chapter in its history, testing the resolve of its soldiers, the strength of its leaders, and the very future of Rome itself.

== Family's Origin ==
Gens Valerii have been prominent established in the very beginning of the Roman Republic, an old and revered family who keep to pietas, gravitas, fidelis, justitia, disciplina. Each and every child born into the family is taught Greek, Law, Philosophy and Rhetoric. All go through the Cursus Honorum as has been tradition since the early days, though lately its noble root has been corrupted by the desire for power from the previous family heads.

The family is well known among other patricians, even though their members have not been too remarkable for the last century, not a single consul or major praetor emerged, which has drained the family’s coffers quite a lot with the many bribes that have been given in the attempts to achieve great power. Even so, with the indulgence in corruption, they still remain loyal to their ideals and the interests of Rome, chasing the goal of bringing back the good old fashioned values Romans used to rely on. The current family head claimed to wish to protect Rome and its people through law and virtue in his youth. Though the last few weeks he’s been less public of a voice.

Most of their influence comes from land ownership, old contracts with various stores in the city and debt settlements, leading to seizure of those same stores, as well as taking on criminal cases as judges and lawyers as of recently with the emergence of Marcus Valerius’ son, Lucius, as a Praetor who’s been unapologetically just and fair to everyone who wishes to bring their offenders and themselves before the ears of Justice. Though this has brought some ire with a few other patrician families, more than usual.

Markus Sol emerged from the war as one of the Republic's most celebrated figures, his popularity eclipsing that of nearly every senator. For Divinia, and for House Umbria, that made him dangerous. Learning of the conspiracy, Markus Sol struck first. Loyal soldiers arrested Divinia and brought her before the Senate to stand trial for treason. Though spared execution, she was stripped of her Patrician status and publicly disgraced. For Divinia, it was the final betrayal. Years of compromise, negotiation, and political games had earned her nothing but humiliation. She abandoned diplomacy entirely.

Together with House Umbria, she hunted down Markus Sol and destroyed both him and the legion that remained loyal to him. With her greatest rival dead, Divinia marched into the Senate itself and proclaimed the death of marcus, how he tried to have her murdered, so she did it to him. Enraged by the notion of the death of his close friend, Flavius Zekor Gracchus, the remaining senators and loyal legionaries rallied against her, plunging Rome into one final battle. The struggle ended where so many Roman ambitions had before, upon the Senate floor.

There, amid shattered marble and the bodies of friend and foe alike, Divinia lay mortally wounded beside her husband. The masks had fallen away. There were no more lies to tell, no more schemes to weave, no more titles left to claim. Only two souls, together at the end. == Story ==
The Servi Dramatis were a theatrical organization within the Roman Republic dedicated to the arts of drama, music, and dance. Founded in 50 BC by Millicent Bellius, the troupe began as a small collective of performers before steadily expanding its ranks.

By 49 BC, the Servi Dramatis had become a familiar sight throughout Rome, staging lighthearted musicals, plays, and public performances in taverns, marketplaces, and shops across the city. Their productions earned widespread acclaim, and the organization developed a reputation as a politically neutral institution amidst the growing instability that gripped the Republic. While Rome became increasingly divided by factional conflict, the Servi Dramatis remained committed to entertaining the public, welcoming audiences regardless of political allegiance.

As their numbers grew to include actors, musicians, playwrights, and stagehands, the troupe undertook its most ambitious production yet. In 48 BC, as civil war threatened to engulf the Republic, the Servi Dramatis premiered a grand theatrical performance that would forever secure their place in Roman history.

The performance was so extraordinary that both sides of the conflict agreed to lay down their arms for a single day in order to witness it. The production became known as the "'''Ludus Deorum'''" or '''Play of the Gods''', not only for its masterful retelling of divine myths, but because many spectators believed the gods themselves had blessed the performance. Most notably, Mithras was said to have appeared upon the stage, while Jupiter was believed to have manifested his power during the song Thunder Bringer, lending an air of genuine divinity to the spectacle.

The Ludus Deorum became one of the most celebrated performances in Roman history, immortalizing the Servi Dramatis as one of the Republic's greatest theatrical companies. Their ability to unite a city divided by war, if only for a single day, ensured that both the troupe and their legendary performance would be remembered for generations.

== Story ==
BreadCorp was an organization founded during the events of the Fall of the Republic (50–48 BC). Established by Willy, the organization was dedicated to producing and selling bread to the citizens of Rome while pursuing a broader vision of improving the lives of the Republic's lower classes.

Beyond its commercial success, BreadCorp worked closely with plebeians by supporting labour organization, advocating for fair wages, assisting workers in securing housing, and negotiating agreements with several notable houses and organizations throughout Rome. As its influence expanded, BreadCorp became known not only as a successful business but also as a symbol of social mobility and economic opportunity for the common people.

Over the course of the Republic's final years, BreadCorp steadily expanded its operations, feeding the people of Rome and amassing a profit of more than 13,000 denarii. However, its fortunes ultimately mirrored those of its founder. As Willy's wealth and influence grew, so too did his ambition. In an infamous attempt to break into the Roman treasury, he was killed, bringing an abrupt end to his leadership.

Although BreadCorp survived its founder's death for a short time, the organization gradually faded into obscurity, leaving behind a legacy of charitable work, commercial success, and the cautionary tale of how ambition and greed can undo even the most prosperous of enterprises.
