Family's Origins
Before becoming the Fulminii, the Fulminara was not a family that people particularly knew by name, they simply were. Although not much could be recalled about the family's history before the storm that changed the house, they were small in both reputation and influence within the city of Rome.
Notable Figures
- Pontifex Beneminius Fulminii - Beneminius was the former Pontifex Maximus and pater familias of the Fulminii. After the devastating thunderstorm that struck quite literally struck down the house and a few members of the little-known Fulminara family, Beneminius stood among the ashes with burns and scars from the destruction. What others saw as just a tragedy, Beneminius saw as an opportunity to change the narrative and unify the house to thrive with their faith leading them, perhaps even by Jupiter himself. This continued to be the case when the man was given the title of the Pontifex Maximus, holding power over the religious order of Rome until his death, when murdered by the very priestesses he oversaw.
- Stabenius Fulminii Corvinius - The oldest son of Beneminius, known for his ambition, particularly in his role as one of the senators early on. He was one of the early allegedly conspirators in the Fulminii Grain Scandal.
- Agentus Fulminii Penguinus - Agentus was the middle son of Beneminius who would go on to become a senator and later succeeded his father as the head of house Fulminii. Although he was born into a patrician family, Agentus would often find more understanding and belief in Rome’s plebeian class, often befriending and seeking them out for company over other patricians. Agentus dreamed as he grew older that he would one day be dedicating much of his reform and ideals into trying to support their businesses and rights. Following the assassination of his older brother, Agentus entered the senate in hopes of fixing the flaws of the system that he had seen affect those close to him, focusing on tax incentives for businesses, advocating for more support and power to the tribunate position, and other legislation granting plebeians more equal rights. Agentus would be the one to lead many of the Fulminii people into the battle against the Vinarius and their allies, as the Pontifex had been murdered only shortly before the war would commence. Despite losing a number of those who were a part of the household in the battle, including Agentus’ husband, the man continued his work in the senate, and would eventually go on to marry one of the house workers, Tokuania Cerise, who was pregnant with triplets, while hoping to rebuild the household with a newer start.
- Aliquid Fulminii Quod - The youngest son of Beneminius, who was met with many hardships upon returning to Rome after being sent away to study abroad for many years of his life.
- Aemilia Vera Helvia - Formally known as Adelpha Fulminia, she was the Pontifex's sister who ultimately revoked her family name following Stabenius' death and the growing tensions within the city and the household. When her twin sister had passed away during the lightning storm many years ago, Aemilia took on her sister's identity, including her name, status, and place within the Fulminii family to preserve their political standing. Following her departure from the family and reclaiming her real identity, Aemilia joined her to-be husband to fight alongside of the Tribune, Marcus Verus Sol, as a member of Legion X in pursuing their endeavors.

Family Traditions, Practices and Teachings
The Vigil of the Seventh Silence - Whenever a storm rolls in, the entire household will gather together in the open atrium, and stand in complete silence until the seventh clap of thunder is heard. If lightning strikes nearby, it’s taken as a sign to act boldly in the coming days. If the storm passes without a seven clear thunder, it is seen as a warning: the gods instead are withholding judgement. Children are expected to endure this without fear. Those who flinch or break silence are remembered.
The Ash Oath - At the start of their adulthood, each member of the Fulminii will participate in a private ceremony. Ashes from the original estate that was burned are mixed together with oil and pressed against their chest or forehead. The mark is not a decorative thing, but smeared onto their skin in an imperfect way purposely. They must speak one of the vows aloud chosen by the one being marked: vengeance, ambition, loyalty, or dominion.
