Biography
Aurelia is a true believer in the gods, but she deeply understands the power held by an augur's soothsaying. Unlike her brother-in-law, the senator, Aurelia struggles to affect the world around her ever since her husband's death. Involvement in philosophy and politics are the only reminders she has of Gaius. To bring honor to his family and legacy, she will bend the truth wherever it is necessary. Yet, she always records the truest interpretations of her auguries privately. She never strays far from the true messages sent by the gods -- but symbolic messages can easily be muddied by the preconceptions of the mind, and Aurelia takes full advantage of that. No matter her sympathies and excuses.
The Valerius clan is one which prioritizes popularist equity. She believes that she is taking the sin of bending interpretations upon her own shoulders to spare the people of Rome, that this outcome is favorable to Juno Regina as its' protector. Aurelia tells herself that she uses this power for the benefit of the people -- the truth in that, we shall see.
