Biography
Donutella Vinarius is the third born child of Monkeus Vinarius, and the identical twin sister of Sygnus Vinarius. Like all the Vinarii, Donutella was raised to be competitive to the point of toxicity and self-destruction. She was never opposed to using her siblings to propel herself into higher heights in her eagerness to please her father.
While her family rejected the gods’ hand in their families fall and rise from ___, Donutella kindled the idea and soon decided that her purpose in her family would be to keep them in the Gods’ good graces and return the worship that is expected by them. She spent her youth in the temples, mostly catering to the Temple of Saturn, where she would coax and draw in others to participate in group prayer. Impressed by her piety, the High Priests and Pontifex at the time brought her into their fold, where eventually she would be considered to take one of their positions.
Donutella was the first of her siblings to claim a grand title in the city of Rome: High Priestess, and all at the age of 18.
Her piety only drew her further and further away from the Vinarius both emotionally, and physically, as her siblings grew contempt for her.
Like the rest of the Vinarius, Donutella thought the plebeians as sub-human, and that they didn’t have the mind nor the wit to have a say in how the Patrician’s lead Rome. The Gods made them to labour, to alleviate the physical responsibilities of the Patrician’s so they may better Rome and bring themselves to greater heights. Still, she remained outwardly friendly towards them to further her station and status, hoping to gain their sympathies and affection so that when she might need something of them, they would be happy to be of service.
Story
FOTR Day 1
Donutella Vinarius was wrought with a terrible sickness. A sickness so terrifying, she was brought outside of Rome with a physician for the months to pass so that it wouldn’t spread.
FOTR Day 2
Donutella Vinarius returns to Rome healthy as can be, and assumes the position as Stand-in Pontifex alongside Astra Aelius. She, alongside the other High Priests, were shown a vision by Saturn: the people of Rome were melting under the pellets of an acid rain, turned to black tar and liquid rubber; Rome, as it stood, was under siege and lit ablaze - no building was left standing, and there was no one to help the suffering people. In response, the High Priests started a witch hunt for heretical altars, and the heretics who created them, in search of forgiveness from the Gods for their blindness to the occurrences.
She spent most of her time at the temples, leading others through prayer and teaching them how to properly make offerings to the gods, safeguarding the Altar of Jupiter from any potential danger, until the statues began to speak to her. Saturn sent her another vision “Time is Ticking” and Donutella sent her Acolyte’s to convey this message to the other Priests.
When all the heretical altars were removed from Rome, the High Priests are reconvened with the Legions II and V - proclaimed Heretics in tow. It was decided that Jupiter would oversee the trial for their innocence, and thus that is what transpired. Two of the heretics were smoted by Jupiter, while the other three were set free because Jupiter thought they arrested them out of hubris.
This didn’t sit well with Donutella - hubris? Are you not the King of the Gods?- all-seeing and all-knowing? If these are heretics, you are to smite them, not leave them to cause chaos once more in the city streets because you, yourself, were blind to their transgressions. Any respective she might have had for Jupiter as a god was null - as he hadn’t even extended a hand to help in their search, regardless. Only Saturn would provide such, and only he would continue to provide such.
The day ended with Donutella paying the Vinarius estate a visit, mostly in search of Sygnus Vinarius. Donutella consorted with the Legionnaires of Legion V, and the housekeepers and servantry, before going to the kitchens where she met Djentus - her older half-brother. When he doubted his lineage and place in the house, Donutella only told him that he is a Vinarius, even if only partly, and for that reason alone, despite his status as a plebeian, she held no ire towards him.
